My students have started podcasting
I teach at a secondary school in Setúbal, Portugal. Setúbal is a town 50 Kms south of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. My students are a group of 18 teenagers, 8 boys and 10 girls, ages ranging from 16 to 18.
Their level of English is heterogeneous, they are in their 7th year of English, but some need to practice their speaking and listening, that’s why I thought podcasting would be a good opportunity to practise both in a real communication situation. The students are all Portuguese, except one of the girls, who is from Ukraine.
Our school year starts in September and ends in June. We started this podcast last February with some Valentine’s messages, and now we asked some questions to know more about other students’ culture. We may not have time till 12 th June to include other episodes, but we’ll try. We meet 2 times a week for 90 minutes each session and in one of these classes we have access to computers.
